"For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you," says the Lord, "plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."
Jeremiah 29:11 (AMP)
I wanted to write today to bounce off of the last blog post. Last time I talked about our freedom and how we need to practice our freedom on purpose. We don't just let freedom happen and maybe it will happen, but we literally have to practice our freedom. It might be good to go back and read that post again to refresh it in your spirit. So, we really could say this is part two.
Now, in Jeremiah 29:11, Father shares His heart with us. He is declaring over us what His intentions are and what His heart is for us. What I’d like to focus on today are His plans for our life. Now, I know this scripture verse has a lot in it and it’s very powerful, but what I want to concentrate on today is "His plans." His plans. Yes Father God has plans for our lives. We know that He shares some of His plans for our lives here in Jeremiah 29:11. Father is declaring His plans for hope and a good future and healthy thoughts for us. We take our cues from Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. So, if Father has plans for our lives, it would make sense and be wise that we should have plans for our lives.
This is where I want to piggyback off of what we talked about last time about practicing your freedom and doing it on purpose. Make a plan. Make a plan for your freedom. Make a plan for your liberty. Make a plan for your healing. What I mean is too many people are negative and stuck where they are. If God has plans for our lives - and God does have plans for our lives - it would be good, wise sense for us to have plans for our lives also. I’m talking about plans for success for your life. We know the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy - that’s his job (John 10:10). How about sitting down and asking the Holy Spirit to counsel and guide us into making plans for our freedom and liberty.
I talk to many, many people throughout the week and one thing that God has been revealing to me as of late is that life happens, and as life happens you go on the defensive. But what if we made plans for standing offensive. Making plans for a better marriage, making plans for our minds to be healthier, making plans to succeed and not fail. After all, if Father has plans for our lives as it says in Jeremiah 29:11, then I think for us to plan for success on purpose is excellent wisdom.
So, I exhort you today, if you need healing or if you’re feeling stuck or confused in a certain area, sit down with the Holy Spirit and ask Him to help you make plans for your freedom. You’ll have to do this ON PURPOSE. I have not seen many times that I wake up in the morning and there’s a note written out on the breakfast table with all the details worked out for life. You will have to search by the wisdom of the Holy Spirit for your plans of healing and your plans of success. I exhort you today not to just allow life to happen. Don't just allow life to go on autopilot. Take healthy ownership of your freedom, peace and liberty - and do it on purpose. Go ahead and sit down with the Holy Spirit and ask Him to give you the plans for healing, peace and success. As you do it on purpose and you take the steps to say, "I want to be more free in my life and I want to be more free in my marriage and I want to be more free in my mind," expect God to give you the plans. Plans for what to study, who to talk with, who and what you could reach out to that will help you and your situation. But do it on purpose. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you make these plans on purpose. After all, if God has plans for us, wouldn’t it be wise for us to also have plans and to follow his lead?
A man’s heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9 (NKJV)
